
Last week, the office of Sponsored Programs and Research (SPaR) hosted the first Student Research Expo, highlighting the exceptional scholarship, innovation, and dedication of our students.
The event recognized following award recipients:
- Best Physical Poster: Jenna Tipaldo, doctoral student in Environmental and Planetary Health Sciences, for “Indoor Mold in New York City: A Spatiotemporal Assessment of Exposure and Associations with Extreme Weather” (co-authors: Deborah Balk and Glen Johnson).
- Best Electronic Poster: Chelsea Pickett, doctoral student in Community Health and Health Policy, for “NYC Street Nurse: Delivering Low Barrier Substance Use Treatment and Medical Care Where It’s Most Needed” (co-authors: Judith Cole, Pedro Mateu Gilabert, and Danielle Strauss).
- Best Conference Abstract: Emma Pliskin, doctoral student in Community Health and Health Policy, for “Maximizing STI Prevention: Addressing Missed Opportunities for Testing in Contraceptive Care” (co-author: Jenn Rogers).
- Best Research in Any Format: Rebecca Zimba, doctoral student in Epidemiology, for “Effect Measure Modification in an RCT of Antibiotic Prophylaxis in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: A Secondary Analysis.”
