Laura Meoli-Ferrigon

The CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy is excited to welcome Laura Meoli-Ferrigon, our new IT Academic Technology Specialist in the Office of Online Learning, reporting to Director Sergio Costa. She is a seasoned educator, filmmaker, podcast host, and author with over a decade of experience. Her achievements include a NY Emmy Award, seven Telly Awards and multiple film festival wins. Laura will assist faculty with course development, instructional design support, and be an integral part of the school’s innovation in education and creative projects.

Laura’s first experience working in higher education was for the CUNY Central Office of Marketing and Communication, which inspired her to pursue a career that combines multimedia and learning. Laura’s storytelling and education background are strongly interconnected after years of being a leader in television, film, and digital media production, facilitating training for interns and new hires.

She has been a filmmaking and podcasting teacher for various non-profits including the Pelham Picture House and the Boys & Girls Club. She also designed a Virtual Reality course for Manhattan College and was a professor teaching “Digital Storytelling” in a completely online format. Combining cognitive processing theory, Mayer’s 12 principles of design, and hands-on design thinking strategies with the latest educational technology, she aims to maximize learner retention and engagement.

Laura has a BA in Film and Television Production from CUNY Brooklyn College, and an MS in Instructional Design and Delivery from Manhattan College. She is so happy to be joining CUNY SPH to enable our talented faculty to create memorable, cutting-edge learning experiences for our students.

Please join us in welcoming Laura to SPH and back to CUNY! Laura’s first day with us is August 11. She can be reached at Laura.Meoli-Ferrigon@sph.cuny.edu
