THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Health Sciences is one of the largest and fastest growing departments at Cal State East Bay, with 14 tenure-track faculty and approximately 1,000 students. The Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences is designed to prepare students to enter directly into careers in health or post-graduate professional programs.
The Department of Health Sciences has two areas of concentration—public health and health policy—in addition to a general degree in Health Sciences. DUTIES OF THE POSITION: This tenure-track position requires specialized training in public health. The candidate must have training in or research experience and a research agenda focused on any of the following areas: epidemiology, analysis and modeling of “big data,” infectious diseases, environmental health, and/or public health surveillance. The department seeks candidates who will broaden the diversity of the faculty in quantitative research methods.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate ability to teach one or more core courses in the Health Sciences Major, as well as required and elective courses in the Concentration in Public Health. The candidate would also work with Department faculty as we seek accreditation of the degree. The successful applicant must articulate a clear research vision appropriate to the discipline, and demonstrate potential to contribute to an active program of scholarly or creative work, including evidence of productivity which reflects a coherent agenda. We prefer candidates who have experience in problem-based or case-based learning approaches.
Applicants should note that teaching assignments at Cal State East Bay may include courses at the Hayward, Concord, and Online campuses. In addition to teaching, all faculty have advising responsibilities, assist the department with administrative and/or committee work, and are expected to assume campus-wide committee responsibilities.
RANK AND SALARY: Assistant Professor. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Subject to budgetary authorization.

QUALIFICATIONS: The Department of Health Sciences seeks candidates who are aligned with its mission of building knowledge and skills necessary to practice in both population health and clinical settings. This job reports to the Associate Director of Evaluation & Learning in the Research and Evaluation Department of PPFA. TheResearch and Evaluation Department is comprised of a team of epidemiologists, evaluators, and certified clinical research experts and conducts and supports research and evaluation throughout the federation. The department aims to expand health care options and improve access to critical services and new ways of delivering care. To this end, the department conducts original research studies to inform patient care and assess the effectiveness of National Office programs and initiatives. It also facilitates, coordinates, and supports research conducted at Planned Parenthood affiliates through capacity building, technical assistance, and direct consultation.
Purpose : The Manager will play a key role in a new and developing workstream dedicated to organizational performance evaluation and learning. More specifically, this workstream aims to improve the ability and capacity of the National Office to assess and track the progress and outcomes of its work. The Manager provides oversight and coordination for organization performance monitoring and evaluation activities.
DELIVERY
- Directs the development and dissemination of systems, tools, and templates to standardize program monitoring and evaluation across national office initiatives.
- Maintains and strengthens the quarterly performance measurement system and report for the National Office, including overseeing data collection, quality assurance, metric development, analysis and data visualization.
- Recommends and advises on monitoring and evaluation design, methodology, and tools that meet organizational objectives.
- Develops and maintains a collection of evaluation tools, resources, and documents including an evaluation compendium and toolkit.
- Presents evaluation findings to internal and external stakeholders at academic conferences and meetings.
- Demonstrates intercultural competence and ensures work products consider the impacts of the work on multiple communities, including communities of color and individuals with different gender identities and socioeconomic backgrounds.
ENGAGEMENT

POSITION: Senior Public Programs Manager
ORGANIZATION: Rockwood Leadership Institute
Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities
Operationalize Rockwood vision to increase enrollment into virtual and in-person public trainings (i.e. Art of Leadership, Art of Navigating Change) in partnership with Communications and Programs departments.
Manage public programs strategy including overseeing the public programs calendar, scheduling training dates, ensuring trainers are secured, and navigating shifts to programming schedule.
Enroll leaders into public trainings, including:

Research Project Manager
The Center on Gender Equity and Health at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is currently looking for a Research Project Manager for multiple research studies focused on gender-based violence, social norms and networks, and other gender inequities as they relate to maternal/child health and reproductive/sexual health. The majority of this work is currently set in East and West Africa, but the position is located in San Diego.
The PM maintains ongoing direct communication with principal investigators (PIs), co-investigators, multi-country research partners (in English and possibly French), and donors to ensure adherence to research protocols, quality of data, and coordination and communication between partners. Incumbent will contribute to grant writing and development, data-collection tool development, data collector training, monitoring & evaluation, data management and analyses, manuscript development, and study protocol development and planning. Will perform intermediate to advanced statistical analysis.The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring study deliverables and study implementation and oversee study staff. It is expected that the incumbent will author and co-author manuscripts, as well as develop and present presentations at scientific conferences with international partners. The incumbent will work independently and with PI(s), for conferences and to visit study sites and/or study partners for the purposes of planning, data collection and/or dissemination.
