On July 17th, The New York City Food Policy Center at Hunter College co-hosted the Mayoral Food Forum on the Future of Food in NYC along with 11 other leading New York city food organizations ( Brooklyn Food Coalition, City Harvest, Food Bank For New York City, Food Chain Workers Alliance, Food Studies program at The New School for Public Engagement, Food Systems Network NYC, Hunger Action Network NYS, Just Food, New York City Coalition Against Hunger, NRDC Action Fund, and Public Health Solutions. The event was also supported by 76 partner organizations. Six mayoral candidates (5 of whom were Democrats) shared their perspectives and goals for the future of food in NYC with the almost 1,000 people in the auditorium and overflow rooms at the New School.
