SUMMARY:Logic Modeling 101
DESCRIPTION:Learning Objectives:\nTo build a basic logic model from program planning or program evaluation. \nParticipants will be introduced to logic model principles and frameworks. Participants will also develop a group logic model and begin a logic model for the program of their choice. Dr. Sean Haley will provide follow up logic model review for participants who would like to complete their models after the session. \nSean J. Haley\nAssistant Professor\, Department of Health Policy and Management \nDr. Haley explores implementation and policy factors that influence access to substance abuse treatment. Before earning his doctorate at Brandeis’ Heller School of Social Policy and Management in 2007\, Dr. Haley held management and consultant positions for state government and not for profit organizations. Dr. Haley completed his post doctorate training as a Policy Research Scientist at the Treatment Research Institute in Philadelphia where among other projects he evaluated the use of performance contracting to improve substance abuse treatment services. He served as the Senior Research Analyst for the National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors in Washington\, D.C. before joining the faculty of the CUNY School of Public Health in 2010. Dr. Haley spent the 2018-2019 academic year on a Fulbright supported research implementation study on alcohol screening and brief intervention in primary care within Rio de Janeiro. He serves as the Chair for the Alcohol\, Tobacco and Other Drug Section of the American Public Health Association where we is leading national efforts to reduce alcohol availability expansion efforts initiated during COVID and to realign tobacco control enforcement efforts within public health. \nResource/Prereading: https://www.wkkf.org/resource-directory/resources/2004/01/logic-model-development-guide \n
