SUMMARY:How can I help you? Thoughts on communication\, presentation and leadership
DESCRIPTION:Lunch with a Leader Seminar Series \nTopic: “How can I help you?” Thoughts on communications\, presentations\, and leadership \nChris Palmedo is delighted to be presenting to CUNY SPH staff at its next Lunch with a Leader series on February 28. For this interactive discussion\, Chris will share thoughts from his experiences\, successes\, and failures (be sure to ask him about those) to help CUNY SPH staff think in different ways about communication and presentations. Chris is the recipient of the 2022 CUNY SPH teaching award\, and over the years\, his presentations have been delivered to appreciative audiences world-wide. \nHe will begin with some background on his research and the projects he conducts at CUNY along with his teaching. He’ll also share a little about his interest in music and how arts may be used to improve individual and population health outcomes. Chris will conclude his presentation with a proposal that could possibly change the dynamic of the CUNY staff experience for years to come. \nAbout the speaker: \nChris Palmedo\, PhD\, MBA\, is a clinical professor and co-director (w/Scott Ratzan) of the MS in Health Communication for Social Change degree program. At CUNY SPH\, his research advocacy has focused on health insurance for college students\, healthy food environments on CUNY campuses\, and soda consumption among teenagers in the Bronx. He teaches Social Marketing\, Capstone\, and a case studies course that helps students explore critical thinking and problem solving in health communication leadership settings. \nPlease note that this lecture will be held in-person. Light refreshments will be served! Those who are unable to attend in person will be able to tune in to a livestream of the lecture. Please RSVP to receive the livestream link. \nA professional development certificate will be provided for participation in this seminar. \n
