SUMMARY:Forging pathways toward a better informed and accessible CUNY SPH
DESCRIPTION:Building more accessible\, inclusive\, and braver spaces at CUNY SPH community \nPlease join the CUNY SPH Office of Accessibility Services in celebrating our second annual CUNY Disability Awareness Month at SPH. Disabled people are the largest marginalized and underrepresented community. In a two-part series\, we seek to bring together the SPH community to illuminate the challenges and opportunities for creating and sustaining a more accessible and supportive learning and working environment for all who study\, work and visit our campus. \nIn this session\, students\, faculty\, and staff are invited to learn about available CUNY and CUNY SPH resources and will discuss ways for all members of CUNY SPH to become more knowledgeable about current policies and services and what can be improved moving forward. \nWelcome remarks from Dr. Lynn Roberts\, CUNY SPH Associate Dean of Student Affairs & Alumni Relations\, an overview of the Office of Accessibility Services by Jeanette Rodriguez\, CUNY SPH Disabilities Coordinator\, and moderated by Sara Ingram\, CUNY SPH Student Disabilities Services Associate. The session speakers include Sahana Gupta\, CUNY SPH ADA Coordinator; Suraj Allie\, Assistive Technology Specialist\, CUNY Assistive Technology Services (CATS); and Arthur McHugh\, CUNY SPH Director of Human Resources\, followed by an open discussion. \nThis event is open to all CUNY SPH students\, faculty\, and staff. \nASL interpretation and automatic live transcription will be provided. The organizers encourage participants to take breaks during the event when needed. To request additional accommodations\, please do so by emailing accessibility@sph.cuny.edu by close of business on Friday\, April 1. \n
