Anja Giphart
Dr. Anja Giphart, Vice President of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, is responsible for providing technical leadership and direction for the long-term strategic vision for the Foundation’s implementation and research initiatives. She is responsible for furthering the Foundation’s leadership in pediatric HIV/AIDS by developing, maintaining and expanding the depth and breadth of relationships with key governmental agencies, multilateral organizations, and other strategic partners.
As a member of EGPAF’s team since 2004, Anja has served since 2010 as Vice President for Program Implementation, responsible for managing the implementation and programmatic operations in our country programs, overseeing the technical aspects of EGPAF’s in-country work, including monitoring and evaluation activities, quality assurance, country support, and technical assistance Previous to her role supporting global program implementation, Dr. Giphart worked for EGPAF in Tanzania, first as the organization’s in-country technical director and later as the country director. Prior to joining EGPAF, she worked as an international health specialist for Macro International, and held positions in Zambia and Mozambique providing and supervising clinic services at area hospitals. Dr. Giphart received her degree in medicine from Erasmus University, and her master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
Appolinaire Tiam
Dr. Appolinaire Tiam, Vice-President of Technical Strategies and Innovation, oversees implementation of our technical leadership, innovation and new technology, program optimization and external technical assistance portfolio to accelerate reaching 95-95-95 for all the populations that EGPAF serves, and to reach adults and children living with or at risk for HIV/TB and associated co-morbidities.
Dr. Tiam is a recognized HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis expert with demonstrated experience managing the technical implementation of integrated HIV/AIDS, TB and other infectious disease service delivery projects, and initiating strategic approaches to scale up HIV and TB services in sub-Saharan Africa. He is also a Principal or Co-Investigator on several operational research studies, and has presented and published his research work internationally. He joined the Foundation in 2008 and holds a Medical Degree, a MMed in Family Medicine from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and a PhD from the University of Bergen in Norway.
Judith Kose
Dr. Judith Kose-Otieno is the Associate Director of Pediatric Services for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF). She provides strategic direction at EGPAF for improving pediatric HIV services including TB and other comorbidities.
Judith is a pediatrician and specialist in pediatric infectious diseases with over 18 years of experience extending to public health, HIV and TB treatment, execution of clinical programs, and implementation research.
Over the years, she has supported different country programs including in the development of guidelines, national training curricula for healthcare workers as well as in implementation of comprehensive high quality, evidence informed programs. Judith has an advisory role in several global platforms. She currently also supporting many countries and projects on Pediatric Treatment Optimization efforts and is a member of the Global secretariat for the Global Accelerations for Pediatric formulations (GAP-f) to represent EGPAF. GAP-f was created as a WHO initiative to provide a sustainable mechanism dedicated to ensuring that the most needed optimal Paediatric formulations are developed against the highest standards of safety and efficacy and made available to children in a timely manner.
Judith was the recipient of the 2006 International Research Health Award from The American Pediatric Association. She is a PHD candidate at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam in the Department of Viroscience. Her focus is on Pediatric and Adolescent HIV treatment outcomes.
