Are you a current student seeking an entry-level public health position? Consider working for the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DOHMH) Bureau of Food Safety and Community Sanitation (BFSCS) as a Public Health Inspector.

BFSCS plays a critical role in preventing disease and protecting public health by ensuring that food service establishments, food carts, and other facilities across New York City meet strict health and safety standards. Inspectors undergo extensive training including classroom instruction and field assessments, and gain certification in food safety regulations, inspection protocols, and enforcement procedures.
