Master of Science Degree Program
The MS in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences program is designed for individuals seeking a career in industrial hygiene and prepares them to sit for the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) exam. While emphasizing the recognition, evaluation and control of environmental and occupational factors affecting health, the curriculum also includes consideration of economic, sociopolitical, and regulatory issues.
The program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in Industrial Hygiene, and is funded through the NIOSH supported Education and Research Center (NIOSH ERC) for the New York and New Jersey area, which offers fellowships to academically qualified individuals wishing to study industrial hygiene. Students admitted into the MS degree program are eligible for at least 24 credits of tuition reimbursement.
