Sahana Gupta recently joined the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy as chief diversity officer, responsible for campus diversity and compliance. She also will be serving in this role for the CUNY School of Professional Studies and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism.
She will oversee the development and implementation of diversity and equity programs for faculty, staff and students, monitor diversity and inclusion in recruitment and hiring efforts, and represent the three schools on various committees and programs to address issues of compliance.
Sahana has over 17 years of experience within CUNY, beginning her career at Bronx Community College as the executive assistant to the president and affirmative action officer, and also serving as director of strategic human resource management. Recently, she worked in the Vice Chancellor’s office in the Office of Human Resources Management. Prior to CUNY, she was the executive assistant to the president at CAEL, Chicago.
She holds a master’s degree in English literature from Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India.
