We are proud to announce that CUNY SPH Professor Terry Huang was elected Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM).

Dr. Huang is Professor and newly elected Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management and Director of the CUNY Center for Systems and Community Design and Co-Director of the NYU-CUNY Prevention Research Center. He has an extensive body of research and a long history of policy leadership in the area of obesity and chronic disease prevention. He is a well-known leader on systems approaches to community health, the intersection of design and health, social entrepreneurship, and cross-sectoral partnerships for social impact.

NYAM’s prestigious Fellows program includes individuals from across the medical and health fields, and other disciplines affecting health. Academy Fellows are elected by their peers and embody the highest levels of achievement and leadership in urban health.

“I am honored to be elected as Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine,” Huang says. “NYAM has a venerable history of serving as a ‘think tank/do tank’ in public health and medicine, and its fellows are all leaders in the field.
