Nevin Cohen, Health Policy and Management professor at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy, was recently awarded funding, along with collaborators Enterprise Community Partners, Fund for NYCHA, and Karp Associates, to work with a group of NYCHA residents to co-design an innovative food buying system that will explore potential strategies such as bulk purchasing of produce and online grocery ordering. This is a proof of concept pilot project on which Cohen and colleagues will conduct pre and post tests. If the project is successful, the team hopes to expand to multiple developments in 2019 and and conduct more rigorous evaluations. Cohen and his collaborators have received $150,000 from the Robin Hood Foundation, $50,000 from the Citi Foundation, and $50,000 from the Fund for Public Health in New York City.
