POSITION: Project Director

ORGANIZATION: Montefiore Medical Center

SUMMARY: This position is accountable for the management and implementation of the 5-year PCORI-funded project that spans 8 sites across the US. This will be a four-arm comparative effectiveness study evaluating Hepatitis C treatment models of DOT versus non-DOT in two health settings (either a methadone clinic or at a community-based health service setting).

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, establish, monitor, and maintain project protocol at all 8 sites.
  • Responsible for managing, drafting, and submitting (1) progress reports, (2) research publications, and (3) grant applications.
  • Manage all budgets for each subcontract site, handle financial reporting and tracking, and manage vouchers for payment from funder (PCORI).
  • Facilitate regular meetings with all project staff, especially key stakeholders.
  • Supervise project staff at all 8 sites.
  • Monitor and oversee implementation at all sub-study sites, including field visits. This will require travel (approx 5%).
  • Coordinate with administrative staff at Montefiore to manage all subcontracts with sub-study sites and staff.
  • Conduct research assessment interviews with staff at all sites.
  • Assess fidelity of protocol implementation at all 8 sites.
  • Manage all IRB documentation, amendments, etc.
  • Managing data collection and data quality for all sites.
  • Develop materials needed for provider and staff education.
  • Recruit, train, and lead Hepatitis C Patient Navigators.
  • Understand HCV transmission, treatment, and risk factors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required experience:

POSITION: Data Manager

ORGANIZATION: Queens College

SUMMARY: The Stress in Pregnancy Study (SIP) seeks a Data Analyst to join their multidisciplinary laboratory at Queens College. The SIP Study is an NIH-funded, population based, molecular epidemiological longitudinal research study in developmental psychopathology. The study focuses on the in-utero period, which is a critical time for optimal child development. One of the SIP study’s most important goals is to uncover the interplay between child genetic susceptibility and disaster-induced psychosocial stress that mothers experience during pregnancy. The study focuses on a variety of outcomes in infancy and early childhood, including early signs of behavioral and emotional dysregulation, suboptimal neurobehavioral development, HPA axis functioning, and the potential development of medical illness and psychopathology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee activities related to data organization and analysis
  • Clean and prepare data for data analysis under the guidance of the Principal Investigator
  • Work with research staff to maintain data integrity
  • Help research staff improve the completeness of their data entry by developing and implementing training procedures
  • Perform regular audits to ensure that the data collected is complete and accurate.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to data management issues
  • Perform statistical analyses according to the study design, interpret findings, and write-up reports
  • Knowledge in longitudinal statistical strategies such as survival analysis, hierarchical linear model (HLM), structural equation modeling (SEM), and latent class analysis (LCA).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree in relevant field of study strongly preferred (e.g., bio-statistics, developmental epidemiology, quantitative psychology, etc.)
  • Must have at least 3 years of data managing experiences in a healthcare provider, hospital, or research organization

Computer skills:

  • Must have advanced knowledge and practical experience working with SAS, SPSS, R, MS Excel, and MS Words
  • Knowledge in M-Plus and AMOS is a plus

General skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent conceptualization, design, and analytical skills
