POSITION: Employee Safety and Health Coordinator – Ithaca, NY

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the technical work involved in planning, implementing, and coordinating comprehensive occupational health and safety programs for the County. An employee in this class may develop, supervise, coordinate and deliver interdepartmental education and safety training, and related program activities, in accordance with requirements of local, state and federal laws and regulations, including the maintenance of records and other documentation. The position is responsible for risk assessment, evaluation, and remediation as necessary, to protect the safety and health of employees, clients, and the public; and to safeguard properties, facilities, and physical assets from loss. The work is performed under the general direction of the Public Health Director or designee, with a high degree of autonomy, and latitude for independent action and initiative. Supervision of others is not normally a function of this class; however, the employee is expected to lead safety and health activities, working in collaboration with other safety professionals as well as other County staff, as applicable. The incumbent will perform all related duties as required.

POSITION: Clinical Quality Improvement Analyst

ORGANIZATION: Planned Parenthood federation of America

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) Department has an opportunity for a CQI Analyst.  Reporting to the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement, the CQI Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Providing support for a federation-wide quality improvement
  • Data analysis, reporting and quality improvement activities to affiliates across the country

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage quality checks on data including development of documentation on both front-end (EHR fields) and back-end (codes) related to quality measure reports
  • Manage quarterly and ad-hoc data check-in calls with Affiliates to review quality measures and quality improvement activities
  • Prepare technical assistance materials on quality measures and quality improvement best practices
  • Facilitate on-site and remote coaching sessions, trainings, webinars, collaborative calls, etc. to support QI projects
  • Develop and keep current documentation on quality measure reports working with EHR vendors and technology services organization
  • Assist with development of new quality measure reports
  • Support and train affiliates on quality improvement activities, including PDSA, and using data to drive improvement activities
  • Keep current on quality measure development and quality improvement activities in the healthcare industry
  • Develop CQI program tools and materials, abstracts, presentations, and newsletter articles
  • Supervise and manage student interns
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Master’s degree (MPH, MPA, MSN, MSW, MA, etc.) in health sciences or related field.
  • At least three years relevant experience in Clinical Quality/Performance Improvement and project management

Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Education Department works with all Planned Parenthood affiliates to strengthen their programs and evaluation, develops innovative approaches to digital sex education including a chat/text hotline that has served more than 500,000 people and mobile websites for teens that have served more than 300,000, collaborates with other departments to conduct large scale media and social marketing campaigns, leads federal, state and local efforts to advance sex education, provides training expertise throughout the national office, and participates in research and evaluation efforts to determine the efficacy and effectiveness of key national office programs and interventions.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Education Department has an opportunity for a Manager of Evaluation, Education.  Reporting to the Director of Education in the Education Department, the Manager of Evaluation, Education will be responsible for:

  • Assisting affiliates with ensuring high quality monitoring and evaluation of their programmatic efforts.
  • Evaluating key national office programs and interventions such as the chat/text hotline and the mobile websites for teens as well as others as they are created and deployed.
  • Developing surveys and conducting analysis to underpin select communications campaigns and programmatic efforts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Develop tools, resources, webinars and trainings to improve Planned Parenthood education departments’ approach to monitoring and evaluation.  Provide individualized technical assistance upon request and as determined.
  • Conduct regular needs assessment with affiliate education departments and develop new resources and technical assistance to meet those needs.
  • Oversee projects such as the patient traffic survey that may include training affiliate education staff, interpreting data, developing individualized reports for affiliates and developing national analysis and snapshots based on findings which can be used throughout the Federation.
  • Monitor the demographic mix and available outcomes of the education department’s digital education offerings on a monthly basis, preparing reports, Power Point presentations and additional materials as needed to communicate program accomplishments. Develop periodic larger reports (annually or based on program milestones).
  • Develop survey instruments, vet potential survey vendors, run analyses and interpret findings to underpin key communications campaigns or programmatic efforts.
  • Serve as key program staff on any opportunities to conduct efficacy and effectiveness research in partnership with outside academic partners which may include supervising vendors and research assistants, developing or revising instruments, inputting/cleaning data, running basic analyses and assisting with interpretation of results.
  • Create presentations and reports on a variety of topics related to sexual and reproductive health for use by the Vice President of Education, in development proposals and reports and for other Planned Parenthood stakeholders.
  • Submit work for possible presentation at scientific conferences and meetings and participate as a co-author on select publications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATON & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in public health or a related social science discipline, PhD preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years public health research or evaluation experience.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • Solid experience using quantitative data analysis tools – preferably SPSS.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods and analysis techniques preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in survey design required.
  • Ideal candidate will have some experience assessing sex education programs and be familiar with existing data sources in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
  • Solid communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations preferred.
  • Experience providing technical assistance and training, including webinars and in-person training methodologies preferred.

Position: Data Analyst

Organization: Bureau of Early Intervention

Posting date: March 3rd, 2016

Location: NYC

Summary: We are looking for a passionate Biostatistics/Epidemiology student to turn data into information and insight.  You will develop data documentation and SAS code to produce analytic datasets, analysis and reports, and continuously monitor quality control plans to identify improvements.   You will join the Data unit of the Bureau of Early Intervention and report to the Director of Research and Analysis.  The data unit needs to prepare 3-5 administrative datasets for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities: The consultant will work closely with the Director of Research and Analysis to develop documentation of the administrative data set and analytic data sets produced.  You will be the primary developer of SAS code to automate the production of analytic variables and data sets needed for the Bureau of Early Intervention reporting. You will also develop code to automate reports and dashboards for the operations units within the Bureau of Early Intervention.  Students should have completed at least 1 semester of biostatistics and be proficient in SAS.  The time commitment will be approx. six months for about 20-30 hours per week.  The hourly pay rate will be between $20-30.
